This is Dan. He's a nice fellow. A little simple, but at least he's not an asshole.
I like to describe Dan's posture as if he is always greatly anticipating something just about to happen. He's always on the edge of his seat... standing. If you can understand that.

I see him on the streets and it goes like this:

"Hey Dan."

'oh hey man how are you.'

"Pretty good!"

'ya cool watchoo been up to today'

"Just taking care of some business."

'ya cool, cool.' he rips the filter off a cigarette and lights it.
'i like my cigarettes without a filter. makes em stronger, ya.'

"Why don't you just get filterless cigarettes?"

'oh ya i guess i could just get those ya, have you ever heard of export A green?'

"Yeah I was about to suggest them to you. Green Death. I personally like JPS, dark and smooth and strong. Ten fifty a pack though."

'ya jps cool ya theyre ok ya. i like dumaurier.'

"I think they taste like cardboard."

'o ya i guess so maybe what else you up to today? smoke any good weed lately? i smoked about an eighth today ya real good shit ya, cool.'

"No, not lately, but today I've just being taking pictures of shit."

'o ya cool cool what sort of pictures do you take man'

"I photograph interesting shit, Dan. Say, could I get a picture of you?"

'oh ya for sure man cool cool'
he stands there. I direct him into the light. He looks about a bit, I take a couple of shots.
"Cool, man, thanks Dan. I gotta run though."

'ya cool man see you next time have a good day eh.'

"You too, Dan."
